So you want to call yourself “pro-life”
Okay. I get it. You don’t like abortions. A fertilized egg is the same thing as an adult human being. Abortion makes you sad. And you want to put a stop to abortions in America.
Now, you can do it the easier way. The way countless dumbshits have done it since the beginning of time: attempt to make it illegal and figure now everyone has to “deal with the consequences” of having sex.
But that’s not pro-life. To be “pro-life,” you have to actually give a shit about the life of the person, not just whether or not they’re born. If you say “Tough shit, you’re on your own” as soon as the pregnant person is denied an abortion, you can’t call yourself pro-life.
You wanna be pro-life?
Then you’d better:
- Support paid maternity and paternity leave.
- Support a minimum wage increase so that one person can comfortably and safely provide for a household.
- Support increased funding for public schools (which includes a living wage for teachers!)
- Support government funding for before- and after-school programs for children living in a single-parent household.
- Be in favor of socialized health care. This especially includes free or affordable access to birth control and prenatal care, but extends to everyone for the duration of their lives. Those things you claim to be campaigning to preserve and protect. This includes mental health care.
- Be in favor of disability payments being large enough for the payee to live a safe and comfortable life (and cutting the $5,000 in the bank and you’re cut off rule off while you’re at it).
- Accept that this shit is going to cost taxpayer money. Recognize that if you truly believe that life is precious, and that ending abortion is killing babies, it should be worth it to you.
- Quit spreading lies and misinformation about birth control. The more people who have access to birth control, the fewer unplanned pregnancies. It’s not rocket science.
- Fight against rapist and abusers’ inherent parental rights so no one feels an abortion is their only option to be safe.
- Fight for the rights of birth parents and adoptive parents in adoption.
- Protect the rights and lives of immigrants and refugees. “All lives matter,” remember? Support the religious minority communities in your area and stand up for them when they’re attacked. This includes Native communities; this includes religions you don’t personally like.
- Pay more than lip service to the ideas of gender and racial equality. Accept that sexism and racism are still prevalent in American society. Recognize your privilege and use it to help others. Racism isn’t “over,” slavery isn’t something people should “get over,” the wage gap is real, and there’s no such thing as reverse racism. Accept that leveling the playing field isn’t unfair to white males.
- Vacate the voluntourism industry and use those thousands of dollars you pay to make yourself feel good to actually help people in those countries if you want to “be a blessing” to them. Plenty of better-qualified people have written extensively on why this is a must-do.
- Hold the police responsible for use of excessive force and assault.
- Advocate for those unfairly imprisoned.
- Protest the exploitation of current and former prisoners, immigrants and the disabled in the workforce.
- Support all marriage rights. Your religion doesn’t matter to anyone but you;
the government benefits to legal marriage matter to everyone.- Recognize that TRANS LIVES ARE VALID. TRANS LIVES MATTER.
And finally, accept that the pregnant person and the fetus cannot possibly have equal rights. Understand that abortions are going to be necessary sometimes.
If a person is trying to flee an abusive spouse, it may not be safe for them to remain pregnant, and THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If an eleven-year-old is impregnated by a family member, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone whose medications cause birth defects cannot abstain from medication for nine months, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone has severe PTSD that would be triggered by pregnancy and childbirth, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone’s only means of support is physical labor that cannot safely be done while pregnant, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone cannot safely go through pregnancy and childbirth, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone is diagnosed with cancer after finding out about their pregnancy, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
If someone is faced with the decision to terminate a pregnancy due to birth defects incompatible with life, regardless of the decision they make, THEIR LIFE MATTERS.
And ultimately, YOU do not get to decide that they matter more or less than their pregnancy.
Can you fight for these values and accept these things? Can you accept that this is NOT ABOUT YOU?
Do you still want to end the necessity of abortion in America? To make it as rare as humanly possible? Knowing that in some tragic circumstances it will be necessary for it to be a safe and legal procedure?Congratulations, you’re pro-life.
If not, you’re a controlling asshole who wants to punish someone for getting pregnant.
The Net Neutrality issue summarized
You (or your parents) pay approx $40-$100 or higher for internet.
So that you can all use youtube, google, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. This isn’t limited to social media.
Net neutrality says, “Okay, since you already paid x amount of money for the month, you don’t have to pay for each asset individually. Enjoy your internet.”
NO net neutrality means that your service provider (comcast, at&t, verizon, whatever it may be) gets to say “ACTUALLY, it lines our pockets so give us an extra $5.99 for Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, but that doesn’t include Tumblr; that comes with our premium package. That’ll be $5.99 on its own as well. Now about your Google docs and email…That’s why it’s important. That’s why I’m spamming Net Neutrality crap. If you’re using the internet, it’s YOUR problem.
-Email your congressman (text resist to 50409) It’s easy, you don’t have to talk to anyone.

This is all important, except for one quick thing:
Emailing your congressman isn’t going to do much. They can ignore emails all they want. You have to call. You have to.

Without a doubt, whiteness is a bigger enemy of “white culture” than anything else.
As for me, if I had to name my ethnicity, I guess I’m German-American; and once upon a time, that used to really *mean* something, used to be something deeper and more meaningful than Lutheran church and polka music and pretending to give a shit about soccer. There used to be extended families, schools, Sprachenbund, festivals, distinct communities, all that good stuff, but that’s all gone now. “Now it is just another someplace where automobiles live,” as Herr Vonnegut once said. And it’s the same story with Irish, Hungarian, Swedish, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, et cetera and so forth immigrants to this brokedick country; there used to be rich, vibrant communities of European immigrants and the children of European immigrants that kept alive art, music, folklore, language, all that good stuff, that said loudly and proudly, “We are here, and this is who we are.”
That’s all gone now. Nowadays, ethnicity within whiteness is just an excuse to drink expensive beer at a folk festival once a year. And people of color didn’t do that, naw, the dominant WASP society did that, and we were complicit in going along with it, because we benefited materially from it, nevermind what we had to give up along the way. They’ll try to sell you a bill of goods about how integration did this; it’s actually the opposite.
White pride is not cultural pride because whiteness is not a culture; whiteness is the Borg. The truth is that white-identitarianism is how come I never got the opportunity to learn Diets on my Oma’s knee.
It’s stuffy and takes a long time to set up and is more reading than anyone feels like doing but Rudolf Rocker’s Nationalism and Culture is a huge-ass take on basically this by other means.

To this DAY Call It What You Want still gets me just as emotional as the first time I heard it anyone who starts sleeping on that beautiful perfect portrait of true love of a song can go some rounds with me it deserves all the love in the world
The whole net neutrality discussion seems to be focusing on download speeds and access to particular services, but does anybody remember back in 2006 when AOL got caught blocking people from sending or receiving emails that expressed criticism of AOL? There was no sign that it was happening, and the emails would appear to be delivered - AOL’s mail servers would even report a normal “accepted for delivery” status code - but they’d just never show up in the recipient’s inbox. Or how about the incident a year earlier where Telus imposed fake service outages for websites expressing support for the Telecommunications Workers Union? Again, no indication that any blocking was taking place: just a error page falsely claiming the affected sites were down.
Under the proposed deregulations, this sort of thing would be explicitly permitted, and we know it’s possible because it’s been done. Now consider how much more communication happens via the Internet in 2017 than in 2005/2006. It’s not even email or websites; big chunks of the telephone network now pass through ISP-mediated VOIP channels, and those conversations would likewise be targetable by faked outages.
Like, this isn’t some dystopian sci-fi scenario; we’re talking about horseshit that major ISPs were getting up to on the sly over a decade ago, and are now about to be told can be engaged in without regulatory penalty.

Sometimes it strikes me as really really immoral that schools exist. They seem like an almost universally terrible experience, though I suppose that might be biased by who I discuss things with.
I don’t really see why more people haven’t tried something different, especially considering how painful the entire thing is. You’d think that the Elite would at least realize that school sucked.
Maybe it’s a way for them to control their children, though.
Yes, oh my god.
I know that there are objectively worse things in the world than schools, but there are very few things that make me angrier than just being in a school and watching it operate.
Part of the reason I think schools still exist in their current form even for elites is that the abuse comes with an expiration date (ie graduation). So when you’re in the midst of it, you can tell yourself “Only X more years.” And then you don’t really care how bad it was because at least it’s over.
(See also: justifications of spanking. It’s okay to treat kids like crap, because one day they’ll stop being kids. Violence is okay so long as it only happens over a span of eighteen years!)
There are people in other countries being killed for wanting an education and you say ignorant shit like this. It must be difficult being 14.
I personally know two people who have attempted suicide as a result of the stress of high school.
I am not comparing the harms of Western education to the violence committed against People In Other Countries pursuing the right to an education (and neither is OP). All I’m saying is that it is, in fact, harmful.
teenagers’ rates of hospitalization for reasons related to depression and mental illness go down more than 60% in the summer, but sure, talking about the oppressive nature of an institution that was literally designed to produce compliant soldiers and factory workers by acclimating people to strict hierarchies, menial tasks, and constant surveillance is offensive for some reason

abortion that late should 🚫❌
I did not know that in 7 states in America, you can carry out an abortion the day before you give birth (allows abortion at any time). That’s so fucking disgusting. And other states allow abortion up to 28 weeks. That’s not a ball of cells no more, that’s a damn baby. It’s good that abortion is legal but not the fucking late into the pregnancy 😷😷 nasty
You do know the reason abortion is carried out that late in a pregnancy is because of fetal abnormalities, right? There’s no woman that stays pregnant for 8 months and then decides “Meh, I’m just gonna have an abortion instead.”
These women are not nasty, they are not evil, they are women who were so excited to welcome their little one into this world. They are women who had a nursery set up and baby clothes bought. They are women who excitedly waited for their due date, took belly photos and updated the world on how their pregnancy was coming along. They are the women who woke up one day and felt that their baby wasn’t moving anymore. They are the women that felt in their gut that something was terribly wrong, just to have their worst fears confirmed.
They are the women who went to a regular checkup to find out that their baby is severely deformed and won’t live outside the womb, or will but only for a few days and suffer terribly the whole time. They are the women who have to make a decision to not let their baby suffer.
Women having abortions that late are not women who just decided to get an abortion 8 months into pregnancy. While that is there right to do so, know that isn’t what happens. Know that that isn’t the reality.
This is really upsetting to read but it is the truth, more people need to know this.
Something like 90% of abortions are first trimester, which is so early that the medical terminology vacillates between “zygote” and “fetus”, and whatever the name, the thing’s the size of a pencil eraser and has 0% ability to survive outside of the womb.
The remainder are performed in the 2nd trimester, generally as a result of fetal abnormality or a severe congenital defect.
The vanishingly rare 3rd trimester abortions are generally for one of two reasons:
1) the life of the mother is in serious danger
2) the fetus is either dead or dyingSo no. Women aren’t just bouncing on coat-hangers at 37 weeks for a giggle, they’re undertaking a serious medical procedure for a heartbreaking reason.
But nice try, jerk.
THISSSSS.
FOR EVERYONE THAT MIGHT BE CONFUSED READ THIS
Banning a D&C at later points also forces a woman to carry a dead fetus within her, full term. Even if it endangers her life (or, possibly, the life of a still-developing twin). Because some men think human woman are the same as pigs and cows, and should behave accordingly.
